I have been going through Andrew Price’s Learn 3D in 4 Weeks curriculum. Weeks 1 and 2 include modelling a donut and rendering it with various lighting conditions. I generally followed Andrew’s instruction but substituted procedural textures, rather than images, for the table and wall.

There are two overhead, rectangular, white area lights. I intended this to simulate the bright florescent lighting common in businesses.

I intended this to simulate the morning sun shining into a cafe from the left. There is one sun lamp.

This is similar to the previous image, but I intended it to represent sunrise or sunset.

Toon / Cel Shading

As a little bonus, here’s the donut with toon shading. Games like Breath of the Wild have popularized this style. This scene contains a single point light.
